Scholarships
Scholarships are sums of money given to an eligible student to be applied toward the student’s education costs. Students do not repay scholarships, but must meet specific requirements to receive them. Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award.

A Nurse I am

Applications must be submitted between midnight PST February 1, 2025 and 11:59 pm PST April 15 2025.

All applications must be completed and submitted via the application form on the A Nurse I Am website. We will not consider applications submitted via email, U.S. mail, or any other method.

The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate-level students in an accredited nursing education program, e.g. those pursuing an ADN, BSN, LPN, RN or RN-to-BSN degree or diploma (undergraduate).

Applicants must be actively enrolled in a qualifying education program within the 50 U.S. states AND attending classes related to their nursing major as of February 1, 2025.

Individuals who have been accepted into a qualifying program but have not begun their nursing-related coursework as of February 1, 2025 are ineligible for the 2025 A Nurse I Am Scholarship.

Both part-time and full-time students are eligible to apply, providing they meet the criteria above.

Ten (10) winners will be selected to each receive: $3000 in scholarship funds, membership in the Careismatic Brands Student Nurse Advisory Council until graduation, and a gift package of medical apparel and products from Careismatic Brands. Undergrad winners will also receive a one-year American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Student membership. (Note this membership is not available to existing RNs).

Individuals are not required to provide proof of enrollment status on their application. All finalists and their educational institutions will be contacted by a Careismatic Brands representative to verify the applicant’s eligibility for the scholarship.

AISES A.T. Anderson Scholarship
Applicants submit a resume, transcripts, verification of tribal citizenship, letters of recommendation, and three essays up to 500 words each.
Who Can Apply: While candidates must possess tribal citizenship, they may be pursuing any STEM-related degree, including nursing.
Amount: $1,000 for undergraduate students; $2,000 for graduate students

American Indian Medical Scholarship Program
The students are expected to return to work among their people to help improve health care. Some students work on reservations, and others find employment in hospitals in areas largely populated by American Indians.
Applicants must submit proof of tribal heritage, a recommendation from a school official, official transcript, a photograph, and a biographical statement.
Who Can Apply: This scholarship is open to American Indian, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian students pursuing a nursing degree. Recipients are expected to provide healthcare in their community after graduation.
Amount: $1,500 per semester to recipients in good academic standing.
Fall semester deadline: June 1

ASPIRE Scholarship Program
(for single parents living in Jasper or Newton counties)
ELIGIBILITY — If you meet all of the following criteria, you are invited to submit an application.
• Resident of or attending school in Jasper or Newton County
• Single head of household (single, legally separated, divorced, widowed) and not co-habiting with an ex-spouse, or partner; with primary physical custody of one or more children under the age of 21
• Earned a high school diploma or GED
• Attending a college or university part-time (at least 6 to 11 credit hours per semester) or full time (at least 12 credit hours per semester)
• Recipient of a Pell Grant
• Pursuing a career-oriented course of study to ensure a better standard of living for your family
* Applicants cannot already have earned an undergraduate degree.

Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship
Candidates must provide two recommendation letters, enrollment verification, and an essay.
Who Can Apply: Sponsored by B4 Brands, this scholarship supports full-time students pursuing an associate or a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Eligible candidates have a gap of at least three years between high school and college.
Amount: Nonrenewable $1,000 paid to the school
Applications open April 1, 2025 and close April 30, 3025.

BTC Scholarship
Seniors from select high schools in the Bolivar area and surrounding counties are eligible for the BTC Scholarship awarded in the spring of the current academic year.
Criteria include:
- Must be seniors and graduate by the end of the current academic year.
- Must be accepted into a Bolivar Technical College program the fall semester following graduation from high school or the next enrollment for that program.
- Must complete and return applications no later than deadline given on application.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must demonstrate participation and leadership in school and community activities.
- Two applicants will be selected from each high school represented and will be notified by mail. Bolivar Technical College will award scholarships of $500.00 each. Bolivar Technical College reserves the right not to award either scholarship if there are no applicants who meet the minimum criteria.
Applications are due April 1, 2025.

BTC CMH Employee Institutional Scholarship
Citizen Memorial Healthcare employees are eligible for the Bolivar Technical College CMH Employee Institutional scholarship. Awards are available during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Criteria include:

Current CMH employee & compensated for at least 20 hours per week.

Enrolled in a cohort program of at least half-time (6 credit hours).

Completed a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Demonstrate financial need.

Be a Missouri resident and a United States citizen or permanent resident.
Awards and award amounts are provided each semester based on limited funding availability. Student’s must reapply each semester and complete the employment verification form. All eligible students may not be funded. If a student does not complete a semester, the scholarship awarded for that semester will be rescinded.
Deadline: Applications will be considered at the beginning of each semester.

BTC Education Foundation Scholarship
Interested students must complete and return applications to Bolivar Technical College financial aid office post-marked or hand-delivered up to 60 days prior to semester start.
Deadline: Applications will be considered at the beginning of each semester. A late application will still be considered but possibly not awarded.
The BTC Education Foundation award amounts will vary per semester. Fund availability will be determined each semester.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be actively enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.
- Applicants must be degree-seeking students. Continuing education and non-degree seeking students are not eligible.
- Recipients must be in good standing with the college (ie; academic, attendance, no probationary status, etc.).
- Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Must complete and return applications no later than deadline given on application.
- Must demonstrate educational and/or financial need

Building the Dream
The Sallie Mae Fund will award (25) $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a two- or four-year degree professional certificate, or vocational training program. Seniors who excel inside and outside of the classroom and demonstrate financial need can apply here.

Caroline E Holt Nursing Scholarship
The Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors this need-based scholarship. Interested applicants must submit their official college transcripts and demonstrate financial need.
Who Can Apply: This award supports undergraduate students who are accepted into or enrolled in an accredited nursing school.
Amount: $2,500

CMH Employee Club 1982 Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria
• Must be an employee, child or grandchild of a Citizens Memorial employee (they do not need to be part of Club 1982).
• Employee (parent/grandparent) must be in good standing for at least a year and have worked at least 500 hours in the previous year.
• GPA must be 2.5 or higher.
• Complete the entire scholarship form.
2024 Scholarship Amount
• $250 for a GPA of 2.5 to 2.9
• $500 for a GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 or higher

CMH Medical Excellence Scholarship
The Medical Excellence Scholarship was established in 1990 by Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. This scholarship was designed to help residents of our service area to achieve their dreams of working in a career in health care.
These scholarships are made available to anyone interested working in the medical field from the CMH service area. Applicants must be able to return to the service area as a CMH employee after their education level is complete.
To be considered for the scholarship you must turn in:
- The completed application
- Three professional references in sealed envelopes
- A letter of intent from the applicant
- A copy of the applicants most recent transcripts (does not have to be official)
Before any financial assistance can be given, all scholarship recipients must show acceptance into a program or university.
Applicants must show a minimum of a 2.5 non-weighted grade point average on a 4.0 scale for high school or post-secondary educational coursework.

Community Foundation of the Ozarks
CFO offers many scholarships annually. Students can apply for scholarships for the 2024–25 academic year beginning January 1.

The Completing the Dream Scholarship is currently available for minority students and those from underserved communities who are on track to graduate college, but are at-risk of not completing due to financial emergencies or unpaid school bills. Students can apply here.

Coursey Enterprises
Coursey Enterprises sponsors two scholarships every spring and fall. Applicants should submit a personal essay and photo.
Who Can Apply: Candidates should be first-year nursing students enrolled in a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse program.

Dream Award
The Dream Award is a scholarship open to all. Your ethnicity, family history, school access, gender, sexual orientation or immigration status should not be an impediment to attending college and pursuing your dreams.
Who Can Apply?
If you’re at least 17, you have a U.S. high school diploma (or equivalent) and you have completed at least one year of college, trade or technical school, you’re invited to apply.
The Dream Award is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident card), or individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA).

Essential Visionaries Scholarship Fund
The Essential Visionaries Scholarship Fund is awarding approximately 100 renewable scholarships up to $10,000/year for students seeking a degree or certificate in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or Pre-Nursing/Nursing.
Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates in the United States, who plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Applicants must also have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent), and be planning to pursue an eligible major. Financial need will be prioritized.
Recipients attending vocational-technical or two-year institutions will receive awards up to $5,000; recipients attending four-year schools will receive up to $10,000. Essential Visionaries Scholarships are renewable up to four years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued part-time or full-time enrollment in an eligible field of study.

The FNFSA Scholarship
The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association General Scholarship award’s annual sponsor defines eligibility criteria, guidelines typically emphasize a nursing specialty such as critical care, oncology, or emergency care. Applicants provide financial aid certification and an official transcript.
Who Can Apply: This scholarship is open to current students in the U.S. who intend to focus on a specialty area.
Amount: Up to $10,000 per academic year

HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship Program
While this award covers tuition, fees and educational costs, recipients must work in a critical shortage facility after graduation. Applicants submit recommendation letters, supporting documentation, and an essay.
Who Can Apply: Eligible applicants should be undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited nursing degree program who do not have federal judgment liens, existing service commitments, or overdue federal loan payments. Preference is given to students with financial need.

I Have a Dream Scholarship (a UNIGO scholarship)
This award is open to all U.S. students who are 14 and older and who are currently enrolled (or enroll no later than fall of 2027) in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education. One scholarship winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

Nurse Recruiter Nursing Scholarship
Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in or admitted to a nursing degree program approved by a state board of nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education at a school eligible to participate in the Federal student financial assistance programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended.
Applicants awarded a scholarship grant may be required to submit documentation to verify their enrollment in or admission to a nursing degree program.
Submitted photos and essays will be used to help promote the scholarship program. Submitting a photo is optional and not required to apply for or receive a scholarship. Scholarship America Dream Award
The Scholarship America Dream Award is designed to help students keep moving toward a degree, by providing scholarships that stick with them for up to four total years. Current college undergraduates can earn renewable awards of up to $10,000 per year.
To qualify, students must be at least 17 years old, and must be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire 2024-25 academic year. Applicants must be pursuing their first bachelor’s or associate’s degree and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Finally, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident Card), or individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA).

St. Clair Hospital District
Nursing students of all ages who are, at the time of application, legal residents of St. Clair County Hospital District #1.
Up to $3,000 annually ($1,500 per semester) can be awarded to the scholarship recipients.
Applicants must submit evidence of residence eligibility and of acceptance to their nursing program, along with the application form.

United Health Foundation
The United Health Foundation is working to advance a more diverse health workforce ready to deliver high-quality, culturally competent care to all communities. The United Health Foundation’s Diversity in Health Care Scholarship will award 325 scholarships of $3,200 to underrepresented students seeking to advance their clinical skills.
Applicants must currently hold an active license/certificate to practice in a clinical health career (e.g., as a nurse, physician assistant, clinical psychologist, or clinical social worker), and be enrolled in or planning to attend school in the upcoming academic year to complete a degree or certification to advance their current clinical credentials. Applicants will be expected to complete the certification, license, or degree within two years.
Awards will be given to historically underrepresented students, including those who identify as Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in full-time or part-time study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational-technical or graduate school, starting in Fall 2024.

WiseGeek Mental Health Well-Being Scholarships
Applicants should offer documentation that they or someone close to them has experienced mental health challenges.
Who Can Apply: Any college student who has experienced mental health challenges.
