Qualities of a great nurse

You might be wondering if you have what it takes to be a nurse. We asked a few of our alumni what kind of person makes a great nurse; here’s what they had to say:
“If you care about people and you want to take care of them, it’s the field to go into. There’s a challenging aspect to it too, so you have to have the drive for it.” –Chelsea, MA grad and RN student
“We need individuals to step up. Individuals who say, “That one life that I’m going to try to save is worth it.” -Angela, RN 2022 grad
“When you go into the nursing field you have to go in with an open heart and open mind. There will be things that will change you and things that will challenge you. These are the times people need us [nurses].” -Hillary, RN 21 grad
“If nursing is something you want to do, go after your dreams. There’s no time like the present. We need great people who care about people in their community.” -Shanisha, RN 22 grad
“If you love people it’s definitely the profession to go into. You’re not just helping the patient, but the whole family.” -Veronica, RN 21 grad
